Edmond Oklahoma top 150 places to live
As someone who has been an Okie their whole lives and grew up in central Oklahoma, I can think of a few places that would be a top 150 place to live within this state. However, the homogenized, octagenarian centric waste hole that only breeds cocaine addicts with raging adderall withdrawls known as Edmond Oklahoma should never be considered a top place to live in this country.
According to the article I linked, it is a top 15 suburb and I'm here to tell you, no one is moving to Edmond. They are moving around it. It is constant suburban sprawl permiated with awful drivers and the need to set speed limits to 25 and go 10 below that. I really hate this town. It is growing the wrong way and with the wrong people.
Growing up, it was a neat little quiet suburb that you'd avoid because the kids all had money but were boring little fuckers who only did meth and anything they could snort. Most of them still live off waterloo in an area known as "Felony Flats". This is the product of Edmond. It always has been. Normally this area is known more of a Guthrie location, but it is obvious how it is fully Edmond and nothing has changed except it is more boring American suburb now. Still a hive of drug induced welfare that couldn't survive in the boring landscape that is Edmond.
Edmond loves to have the literal worst traffic lights in America. I know, I drive them daily. I often find myself staring at a light for 2-3 minutes multiple times per day without any other traffic moving. It is not uncommon to wait at lights and see others just as tired of it as you. Then, if you get through the lights, guess what divides the town in half? Highly active train tracks. Could the city have used the last 50-60 years and correct it so that the train does not interfere with the day-to-day of their citizens? Yes, but also the City of Edmond says "Fuck our citizens, give us money."
Edmond loves cops. Most of the idiots that move here think cops keep them safe. However, as pointed out a couple times, Edmond actually has mutltiple issues with criminals. From drugs, to lots of petty larseny that doesn't get reported, to TONS OF PROSTITUTION. I am not joking. From harems of women, to cabals of children diddlers, the republicans and their lack of parenting skills has created a seedy underbelly here you can't fully understand until you are here.
Edmond is still Oklahoma. That is what I'd remember before moving out here. My house is only a mile away from a location called "The bone farm" which was owned by a motorcycle gang leader who ordered his gang to continue their drug ring from the house, eventually leading to debts being paid by debters being barried up to their necks and the properties starved pit bulls unleashed on them. That is only the start. A mile east of there, is a bar known for open meth and crack smoking as well as prostitution and gambling. I live 1 mile outside of Edmond.
1 mile.
I hate this town. I hate its leaders who don't care. I hate its cops who only bring in crime and resentment for their decades of awful treatment towards their citizens. I hate that it used to be a sundown town and in some ways, still is. I hate that people think it is a nice town when you're looking at a gold plated toilet and marveling while ignoring the giant dump sitting in the bowl. It's pathetic.
This will be updated as we go along. Because there is so much awful in the town of Edmond that is kept too quiet and it needs to breath.
Some of my expected topics will be things like "Which side of town should I live on?" "Why is everyone so bad at driving?" and "Which school system is better because it is obvious some are good and some are not." Stay tuned.
